Community Engagement
The Climate Centre places a high value on community engagement, recognizing that local knowledge and active participation are crucial for effective climate adaptation. By collaborating closely with communities, we ensure that their unique insights and needs are integrated into climate assessments and decision-making processes. We believe that fostering strong, inclusive partnerships with community members empowers them to take ownership of climate action, enhances the relevance of our work, and leads to more sustainable and resilient solutions that reflect the lived experiences of those most impacted by climate change.
We engage with community through various efforts. You can read more about our efforts to tackle social justice here, about how we engage with stakeholders here, about how we develop digital tools for community here, how we conduct interviews with researchers and early career scientists here, how we summarise climate related news for the public here, how we help people process eco-anxiety here, and how we incorporate these aspects together in our podcast A Climate of Change here.
